Strawberry Gin Cocktail

Equipment

  • 1 Shaker
  • 1 Jigger
  • 1 Muddler
  • 1 Fine mesh strainer
  • 1 Gin glass
  • 1 Spoon to help straining the cocktail

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Strawberries cut into quarters
  • 4-5 Mint leaves
  • 2 oz Dry gin
  • 1 oz Lime juice freshly squezed
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup cooled
  • Lots of ice
  • Soda water to top up
  • 1 Strawberry to garnish

Instructions
 

  • Put the strawberries and mint leaves in your shaker.
    4 Strawberries, 4-5 Mint leaves
  • Pour the simple syrup over the strawberries and mint leaves.
    1/2 oz Simple syrup
  • Muddle them all together and don't be too gentle. The flavours of the fresh strawberries and mint leaves should be released to the cocktail.
  • Add the gin and lime juice.
    2 oz Dry gin, 1 oz Lime juice
  • Finally, add lots of ice into your shaker and shake vigourously until the outside of the shaker is ice cold.

  • Fill your gin glass with ice strain your cocktail into the glass by using a fine mesh strainer and with some help of a spoon. Fine mesh will help you to have a clearer drink.
  • Top op your cocktail with soda water.

  • Garnish your glass with a mid sized strawberry. Enjoy!

Notes

Optionally, you can twist a lime peel over the glass before you serve. This will enhance the citrus flavour.
