Mudslide Cocktail: A Delicious Autumn Drink with Coffee and Chocolate
Simple and Delicious
Without having a decent Summer, we’re already seeing the signs of another Autumn. I never liked cold weather, I’m a complete Summer person so there are some ways for me to make this chilly weather more enjoyable. Yes, one of those ways is definitely a good, delicious cocktail, such as Mudslide!
A Mudslide has a very simple recipe that will tempt chocolate and coffee lovers. The base ingredient is vodka for this delicious drink, so if you’re a vodka fan, keep reading.
Mudslide With or Without Cream?
When you search for a Mudslide recipe, you will see that some of them use double cream. This is completely a personal choice. The recipe you will see below does not contain cream but I will also give you the ratios for that version.
I used Kahlua and Baileys for coffee liqueur and Irish Cream in my cocktail. These two are the most common brands and accessible ones for me and I’m quite satisfied with their taste so I use them often. As always, the recipe I have given below will only be a guide for you. Don’t hesitate to change the ratios. Add more coffee liqueur if you like it more or some more Irish Cream if you like the creamy taste. There’s no perfect recipe that will meet everyone’s taste but it is up to you to create the perfect cocktail for yourself.
Mudslide Recipe
Here are 2 different recipes for you:
Without Cream
- 1 1/2 parts Vodka
- 1 part Coffee Liqueur
- 1 part Irish Cream Liqueur
With Cream
- 1 part Vodka
- 1 part Coffee Liqueur
- 1 part Irish Cream Liqueur
- 1 part Double Cream
Put all ingredients in a shaker with lots of ice, shake well until you feel that the outside of the shaker is cold enough. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Here I prefer a coupe glass because I find the looks of it more suitable =)
There are also some different ways to garnish your Mudslide. You can rim the glass with fine to middle grated chocolate, melt the chocolate in a double boiler and coat the mouth of the glass with melted chocolate or grate the chocolate directly onto the drink, as I did with this one.
It has been a while since I have updated my blog so I hope that you’ll enjoy this recipe. I already have some plans to make more coffee and chocolate-based cocktails to keep myself entertained during this autumn. If you try and like Mudslide, please comment below and share your thoughts.
